Windows TrueType Fonts, Window XP:
(Windows 95, 98, 2000 and NT 4 will vary slightly)

  1. Unzip the folder that you downloaded and save it in "My Documents."
  2. Double-click the PDF License or Read Me document. This contains important information about the license for this piece of software.
  3. Open the "Start" section.
  4. Double click to open "Control Panel"
  5. Double click to open the "Fonts" folder.
  6. Under the file menu, choose "Install new font."
  7. "Add Fonts" window appears. Choose the C-Drive.
  8. Double click on the C Folder.
  9. Choose the My Documents Folder (Note: if your computer is set up for multiple users, at this point you choose Documents and Settings, then user, then My Documents)
  10. Select Font(s) you wish to install. Click OK.

Hooray! Your fonts should now be installed and appear in the menu of every application that uses a font menu. Sometimes to activate your fonts, you need to re-start your computer.

Macintosh TrueType or Postscript Fonts, OS X:

  1. Download your font.
  2. Unstuff the font. A font file will appear in your download window. If the font file is .sea (automatically extracting), you may need to use Classic to open the file. If it is .sit (a stuffed file), you should be able to double click to open. If necessary, drag the stuffed file over "Stuffit Expander." (We recommend version 5.5 or higher.)
  3. Save the unstuffed folder on your desktop.
  4. Open the font folder and double-click on the PDF License or Read Me document. This contains important information about the license for this piece of software.
  5. Open the Library Folder on your hard drive.
  6. Click on the PostScript or TrueType font folder. TrueType fonts will have one file only (.suit). For PostScript fonts, you will have to hold the shift key and click on two files (one is the name of the font, the other is the font name with .bmap after it).
  7. Drag the font file(s) into the Fonts folder in your Library folder.
  8. Quit any programs you have currently running and relaunch them.

Now you're cookin'! The new font will be available in your font pull-down menu on all the programs you use.

Macintosh TrueType or Postscript Fonts, OS 9 or lower:

  1. Download your font.
  2. A font file (fontname.sea) will appear on your Desktop. If the font file is automatically extracting, a folder will also appear. If it is not automatically extracting, you'll see a stuffed file. If necessary, drag the stuffed file over "Stuffit Expander." (We recommend version 5.5 or higher.)
  3. Open the font folder and double-click on the PDF License or Read Me document. This contains important information about the license for this piece of software.
  4. Click on the font files. TrueType fonts will have one file only (.suit). For PostScript fonts, you will have to hold the shift key and click on two files (one is the name of the font, the other is the font name with .bmap after it).
  5. Drag the font file(s) over your System Folder.
  6. Your computer will say, "This item needs to be stored in the Fonts folder. Put it into the Fonts folder?" Click OK.
  7. Your computer will say, "The font suitcase will not be available to currently running applications until they have quit." Click OK.
  8. Quit any programs you have currently running and relaunch them.

Voila! The new font will be available in your font pull-down menu.
